In the beginning, the building served as a brothel which was often visited by a local judge. To assure discretion, patrons had to knock on the red door to gain entry. As such, the restaurant still ask patrons knock on the red door to gain access by the doorman or other employees before entering the building. Although, there is now a side gate to the large outdoor area which serves as an alternative entry during special events.
While an outstanding music venue, the restaurant is also rated as one of the best Mexican food restaurants in the city. While open most days, it is important to call and verify hours. For, the venue has been known to close occasionally though rarely at various times throughout the year.
