Some Information On Organic Beef And Pork

By Cynthia White

These days everyone is jumping on the healthy bandwagon. Everybody is going for a lifestyle change either by exercising more, or being more active and also eating a lot much healthier. Eating healthier means staying away from processed foods and eating more natural. One of these more natural foods to try out if you want to be healthier are organic beef and pork, which I made from grass fed cows and pigs, which are usually kept free range.

One characteristic of organics are that they are expensive and sometimes almost twice the price of regular food. This in a way makes them unattractive to the regular consumer who is not educated on their benefits. This article is to shed more light on the benefits of this kind of food. After reading this article hopefully you will appreciate organic foods a bit more, despite of the high price they fetch in the market.

Organic meat has basically lower fat content overall. This is because they are just grass fed with no fatteners or additives to their feeds. As such the meat on these animals are as lean as can be with very little fat content. Thus if you are watching your fat intake this is a definite candidate for you.

As these meats have low fat, it is also a corollary fact that they will also have lower calories. Thus if you are trying to lose weight by trying to keep your caloric intake at a certain level, then these are the meats for you. The great thing about it is that you can eat more of this kind of meat, get more full, and yet keep calories at your set and specified level.

Organic meats also have much higher levels of omega 3 and also quite high levels of antioxidants and vitamins. This will meant that with regular consumption, you will be definitely be more energetic, healthier and of course age a lot slower too.

Richer flavor also is found in this kind of meat, meaning you cannot beat the taste. The reason for this is because of the higher iodine content due to being fed natural grasses and such. Most industrial feeds usually cut down on the iodine by up to seventy five percent and thus this also affects meat flavor.

These meats also have no gluten and thus will be good for those who fear the onset of celiac disease. As it will have no gluten, there will be less irritants for those with gluten sensitive colons. Less gluten also means that it will be that much easier to digest and so you will be less prone to constipation also.

Antibiotic free is also what you get with this kind of meat. Many animals nowadays are given antibiotics as a prevention against many diseases. Range animals from where organic meats come from are not given antibiotics under strict regulations, so you can expect the food made from these animals to be very safe and very healthy.
