Sour Patch Cherries Make A Fun Snack For Dieters

By Dorothy Ross

For a lot of parents and teachers, kids will be kids. They ask a lot of questions and sometimes do some of the funniest things but one thing that is common with most young people is their love for sweet treats. Although many grownups are learning how to reward kids in other ways, such as giving out low calorie snacks, there are some alternatives that will not deprive them completely. For instance, sour patch cherries are the gummy candy that is growing in popularity because it has a ton of flavor but little sugar content.

These are a combination of sweet, sour, and tangy in an intense berry flavor. While some may think of these as something for kids or teens, there are a lot of grownups ordering these by the dozens. One reason is, unlike chocolate, these have no fat and are low in calories. Parents and teachers of small children can also create a number of snacks for the little ones they love using these flavorful treats.

Truthfully, these are also low in calories so there is no need to sweat if a person has a handful or eats a small bag in one sitting. This is most likely why many nutritional supplements and certain medications are in gummy form. In recent, people have found they can have gummies as their multivitamin to help balance their meals. However, if a person is taking supplements to treat a chronic condition, they should consult a healthcare professional first.

For parents that like to give their small children sugary sweets as a reward, there is something to think about. Studies have linked white sugar to hormonal imbalances that occur during puberty. So it may be best to wean them away early so they do not become victims of excessive acne, weight gain, or painful menstrual cycles.

Most people who like gummy candies say that sour is in a class of their own. These do not taste like the rare black cherry that is found at premium candy retailers. If a person likes to have their lips pucker after one taste, this is something worth trying. Some people say that the pucker effect kind of kills that annoying sweet craving that many people get from time to time.

If a relationship has not yet reached that level and money is a little tight, there are some creative ways to express romantic feelings. Gift bags that contain red gummies, along with a number of trinkets like a mixtape CD that resonate with the recipient are sure to be a hit. Although a lot of money was not spent, the giver may find themselves getting a proposal if they hit the mark right.

Parents who are having a hard time keeping their kids away from unhealthy snacks should consider gummy candies, jelly beans, or licorice. While fruits, grains, and vegetables are the best choices for natural energy and to cut calories, sometimes children have a time withdrawing from sugar. These low sugar snacks come in a variety of flavors so it may help to recommend something that kids already like. If a child seems to like tropical flavors, there are many online retailers that carry varieties not found at all brick and mortar stores.

Bosses can give these to their employees as a good communicator. Attach a simple or funny note of appreciation and this is sure to spread positive energy throughout most work environments. Busy bosses may want to keep their own stash for late nights or when they want a little treat for the long hours.
