Could Extra Virgin Olive Oil Help Failing Hearts?

By Michael Robert Peterson

Heart health is one of those concepts which can be affected by various actions. For example, if someone were to exercise more often, chances are that their heart would be positively affected. It's also worth noting the importance of cholesterol and how such a substance can be maintained through proper eating. When it comes to dieting, especially when it relates to a potentially unhealthy heart, extra virgin olive oil deserves to be covered.

TIME posted an article that spoke about extra virgin olive oil and how it could possibly be used to helped a failing heart. Circulation, a medical journal, posted quite a bit of research that went into detail about the idea of heart failure. Basically, this condition is illustrated by the difficulty of pumping blood throughout the body. What this does is that it causes the heart to expand, which is a negative development seen by companies like Unaprol.

While the study was being conducted, the hearts belonging to these rats were injected with two different types of oil. According to TIME, oleate is a type of fat that is linked to olive, canola, and other oils of this nature. Palmitate is a sort of fat that, for the most part, can be linked to products along the lines of animal and dairy. As the study continued, interesting results came to the forefront. These are ones which no nutrition-conscious individual should overlook.

On one hand, the hearts which were given palmitate appeared to look like failing hearts, with larger masses to consider. This was not the same when it came to the hearts given oleate, the results being far more positive by comparison. In fact, oleate allowed the hearts in question to have restored fat content that might have been lost early on. Not only were the hearts able to aid metabolic levels better but it seemed like their general levels of functionality were greater by comparison.

In order to help your level of health, in the long term, extra virgin olive oil deserves to be incorporated. In fact, I believe the oil in question to be one of the best products made for the purpose of greater health. You have to keep in mind that it has the ability to provide your body with all of the helpful components it can handle, whether it's a matter of antioxidants or what have you. Regardless, if you'd like to better understand what this oil is all about, you should take it upon yourself to use it.
