This cuisine started after the Roman Empire fell and different cities started to differentiate and to come up with their own traditions. The first Italian restaurant to be established was located in Rome and Athens and it mostly served spinach, almond and rice. This cuisine has since developed over the years.

After sometime they introduced spaghetti, casseroles, salt cod among others. Since refrigeration did not exist hence the fish was mostly smoked or salted in order to preserve it. Traditionally, an Italy-style meal contain between four to five courses. The restaurants are built for majorly families since they often see meals as a way of spending time with the family rather than just sustenance. They uphold the family spirit and hence they are very joyous.

Cuisine from Italy is considered to be the most exotic form of cuisine in the present world. It is majorly served in weddings and special events. A typical Italian restaurant menu includes first and the second course then coffee and a side dish. The first course is always a more sustainable dish like pasta.

The Italy-style coffee is made from a blend of coffee beans which are roasted to medium or medium dark in the north and darker as you move south. They also serve wine which is produced locally. Italy produces largest amount of wine in the world and is both the biggest exporter and consumer.
