Some New Fava Flour Recipes

Fava is a large bean, one of the tastiest and meatiest beans you can find. It is often used as a flour improver, because it gives fuller and more distinguished taste. It possesses active fat-oxidizing enzymes which affects gluten protein, providing gluten-free baking qualities. There are numerous fava flour recipes for baking cookies, cakes, breads or pizzas.

It is often mixed with garbanzo beans, and can also replace rice starch in various recipes. It is recommendable to keep it in the freezer. It is rich in fiber and gluten free, but requires a little more baking powder than you would use in your traditional recipes. It can also replace only a part of similar ingredients you would normally use, and you will get healthier and really tasty foods.

Anyway, here are a few recipes you could try to make right now, and you won't be disappointed. The first one is called the quick apple cake. And it is really simple and tasty. All you need are three to four apples, a small spoon of vanilla sugar, cinnamon and baking powder, and one cup of following ingredients, sugar, fava flour, walnuts. You also need half cup vegetable oil. Slice your apples first.

First, you should preheat the oven on 180 degrees Celsius. Spread sliced apples on the bottom of the pan, sprinkle with cinnamon and one spoon of sugar and bake for fifteen minutes. In the meantime, combine egg whites with sugar and vanilla sugar, add yolks one by one and mix it all together with oil. Add other ingredients, pour it over baked apples and bake for another fifteen minutes.

When the cake is baked, you should turn it upside down on a plate. Level the apples if needed. Cover with whipped cream. In case you don't want to use a real cream, you can use vegetable whipped cream instead. When it comes to sugar, it depends on your apples' sweetness. Of course, you could add more sugar if you prefer sweeter cakes, or more vanilla or cinnamon, according to your taste.

Almond cookies are really simple, but tasty. With one egg, a cup of fava flour and the equal amount of ground almonds, sugar and butter, some cinnamon and cardamom and a little spoon of baking powder you can easily make them. Simply combine all these ingredients, form cookies and bake them in some non-stick pan, on maybe 180 degrees of Celsius.

Poppy muffins with raisins and dark chocolate make unusual but tasty dessert. You will need following ingredients. Three eggs, one little spoon of baking powder, one cup of puppy seeds, ground, the same quantity of fava flour, of sugar as well as of vegetable oil, half cup of raisins and the same quantity of chopped dark chocolate, vanilla and a pinch of cinnamon.

Mix well the eggs and sugar, add vegetable oil, vanilla and cinnamon. Add poppy seeds, baking powder and flour and, in the end, raising and dark chocolate pieces. Bake in muffin molds, on 180 degrees of Celsius, for maybe fifteen to twenty minutes. You can decorate your muffins with chocolate cream.
