Infused olive oil is almost the same ingredient used for cooking, with the exception that it is enhanced with different seasonings. The product can be found in stores, but people can also prepare it at home, as there is not much effort involved. The substance can be made in different ways and there are certain steps for people to follow in order to obtain a quality product.

Dry herbs are used in most cases, especially for home preparation. The practical uses of a mixture can be numerous and it could be used for different foods and salads. Olive oil is a very healthy product, even in the simple state. The healing properties of the substance can improve after spices are added. There are many types of flavors that could be used and they depend on the herbs that are used as ingredients.

The infusion procedure can last for a longer period of time and people may want to try different herbs before obtaining a good combination. There is a simple method for preparation, which is made by putting spices and the liquid in a bottle and leaving it for a certain amount of time at the temperature of a room. The level of flavor that is desired can be obtained in a few hours, in weeks, or in months. After the period passes, the aromas can be maintained through refrigeration.

There is another method of preparation, called hot infusion. The procedure involves the use of a saucepan and a stove to heat the mixture. The flavors get into the fluid due to exposure to high temperatures. Once the process is finished, people could close the bottle in which they poured the liquid and deposit it into a refrigerator. The cold method involves the use of a blender and a food processor. When selecting the cold way, the fluid should be combined with fibers and dry spices.

The resulting substance is a paste, which must be poured into a bottle and refrigerated. For different methods, many types of spices can be used: basil, chive, oregano, thyme, or rosemary. Tastes can be different from one individual to another and those who need a spicier flavor could use: dried chilies, ginger, cumin, cardamom, shallots, curry, or horseradish. Some people may also like to use citrus zest, fresh garlic, or mint.

In order to obtain the best results from a combination, individuals should respect certain hints. Vinegar and salt can be added, as they could help in avoiding bacteria growth. Herbs can also be dried for getting the water out of them and leave only essential oils.

Herbs can be dried with the use of a dehydrator, but the operation can also be made using sunlight. For the best results people could make olive oil themselves and they can put the herbs in the press, when they press the olives. For more flavor, vinegars may have to be bought from other sources than supermarkets.

Individuals could use infused olive oil when they cook, as the flavor of a mixture can be much stronger than in the case the liquid is not combined with herbs. There are three main methods that use three factors: heat, a blender and time. Regardless of the method used, the product has obvious advantages.
