The event showcases the best of British independent brewers as well as great beer from around the word. One thousand volunteers donate their time to staff this week long event that starts in early August.
The GBBF is supported by the organization known as the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) which promotes cask conditioned ale and supports independent breweries. The Great British Beer Festival began in the mid 70s and the first event attracted more than 40,000 guests with 150,000 pints of ale consumed. The beer festival is the UK'S largest and normally held annually in London.
