An Ozone Sanitizer Is Very Nice To Have

By Eloise Hewitt

There are so many ozone sanitizers in the market today that one is not sure which way to turn. Does one even know what an ozone sanitizer is? Is it a healthier choice from what you have grown up with? Ozone is called activated oxygen and contains three atoms instead of the normal two. It can be used to destroy odors, bacteria, and viruses. It is a gas at ambient temperatures that has a strong smell. This can be made as a gas from oxygen and can be dissolved into water.

Those that have a garden in their back yards no doubt have used ozone and chlorine as a form of sanitizing the water you swim in. Chlorine is an effective chemical but does not kill all microorganisms. In has also shown to have rather unpleasant by products. When these two are combined they then work on each other's strengths and improve any condition in the swimming pool.

One method to keep equipment clean is to use 4 UV lights to convert oxygen into ozone. This is then circulated around by fans for a few minutes killing all micro organisms. Natural tea tree oil is allowed to embed itself into the equipment. The last step is to ensure that there is a protective layer that has a scented bactericide added.

There are rules that are set into place where food is to be made. All the fittings, fixtures, and equipment must be kept in a clean state. All surfaces that food comes into contact with must be kept free of any germs. There are differences between cleaning and sanitizing. Both do however help to prevent the spread and growth of any organism that might cause illnesses as well as help to alleviate pests on the premises.

It is important to be able to size the equipment for the pool, that is, the correct dosage that must be applied to the system. It needs to be applied in the correct volume, for example, how many people normally use the pool. Dirt and any other organic compounds must be taken into consideration as well.

All eating as well as drinking utensils and food equipment need to be cleaned as well as sanitized. Garbage is to be disposed and stored in appropriate containers. Having a double sink is a great advantage as both sides can be utilized to the fullest. All food should be scraped and wiped off and rinsed, then washed in hot water with detergent added. This will remove any grease that is still on the utensil. In the other sink, add the sanitizer with warm water and let the plate's etc sit in there while you are cleaning the rest.

If a dishwasher is used, read the manufacturers note about which detergent or sanitizer to use. Always be sure to use the hottest cycle there is. When removing and clearing out always keep an eye open to make sure that everything is coming out clean and that there are no food residues left. Maintenance is very important for these much used machines.

Chemical sanitizers are either ammonia based or chlorine. Always read safety instructions as they tend to differ from one product to the next. Storing chemicals is also a very important rule to follow. Ozone sanitizers are a much cheaper form and work well in cold water.
