Get To Know The Mystery Behind Cinnamon Toothpicks

By Jocelyn Davidson

It is estimated that the invention of toothpicks happened in the same period as the discovery of the wheel. This makes picking one's teeth one of the oldest human habits that started many decades ago. The sticks were made using materials such as ivory, gold, silver, bone and wood. In the modern world, wood has been used to make different types of flat and round-shaped sticks which include colored toothpicks, frilled toothpicks and flavored sticks such as cinnamon toothpicks among others.

One of the advantages of using the toothpicks is that they are able to make you smell fresh after a hasty meal. Once you take food the components are able to remove some of the bad smells that remain in your mouth. It would be very embarrassing if you talked to your friend immediately you take meals and see him/her making faces as they push you away.

Flavored sticks are commonly made of materials such as mint, cherry, bacon, lemon, citrus, orange, ample and cinnamon among others. Due to their flavor, they are highly recommended for adults with certain types of addictions such as smoking, nail biting and snacking among other forms of addiction.

In the recent world many people who have been slaves of cigarette smoking for a long time use the sticks as a substitute. Once they get the cravings, they use the sticks to prevent the damage of the lungs after long times of smoking. Scientific research has it that once a cigarette smoker places the stick on the mouth, it manipulates the mind, and this leads to relieving the cigarette cravings.

You can get flavored sticks from various shopping outlets in packs that commonly constitute of 5 to 15 sticks. However, there are bigger packs that are preferred by people addicted to smoking as they need to use them often whenever they have smoking cravings. The flavored sticks may cost more than those that have no flavor.

You can have your own homemade flavored sticks by acquiring the necessary raw materials such as flat or round-shaped sticks, a clean glass jar, cinnamon oil and other products you may need from a certified food outlet. Dip your sticks in a jar containing at least one ounce of the flavored oil and close the jar to leave no space for escape of the flavor.

Before putting your sticks in the pack, you should ensure that they are dry. You could do that by putting the sticks on a flat surface of course after you remove them from the jar, check if they dried off thoroughly. If they are not yet dry enough, consider placing the sticks on a sheet of cookie and preheat them in the microwave to 250 Fahrenheit.

You can store the sticks in a suitable packaging product for later use. If any oil has remained, you can also store it and use it to make more flavored sticks another time. It is recommended that you buy your raw materials only from certified food stores and that you do personal research before making flavored sticks to avoid health complications.
