How To Cook Shish Kebab In The Best Way Possible

By Elsa Noel

Preparing a menu for a party can be especially stressful if you have no idea what kind of food or recipe the guests would want. That can easily be remedied by including a kebab on the list. A lot of people know what a kebab is. And whether you will host the party outside or inside, you can be sure that a kebab would always fit.

This recipe originated from the Middle East. But now it is widely spread all over the world. There are already many places that have specialized in this recipe, one place in particular is Shish Kebab East Meadow.

One thing that you can admire in New York aside from the view is the good food. East Meadows in particular is very famous for their array of different variety of kebabs. If you are to visit this part of the Big Apple, you should not pass up the opportunity to taste one of their world famous kebabs.

Over the years, there are already a lot of versions for this recipe. It involved roasting on a skewer. Before, the traditional recipe used is the meat of a lamb. But as time passed on and Kebab became a famous dish, a lot of people and cultures have incorporated their taste to it. And there are also some, that because they it were restricted by religion to eat a specific meat, they also invented their own version of the dish.

Other types of shish kebab included the ingredients beef, see food and fish, chicken and pork. There are also some who would go for a vegetable and fruit skewer. Then others would mix and match. Making the best version of your own shish kebab can be easy using some simple guidelines.

In marinating the meat, you should use a cooking plastic. There should be not a hint of air inside the plastic. Marinated food, whatever they may be should be stored in the fridge to avoid making the marinate a breeding ground for bacteria. Leave it for thirty minutes at least. If you want to marinate it longer then you could do so. This will make the seasoning penetrate deeper into the dish for flavoring.

Parboiling the vegetables is a must before you skewer them with the meat. If you are planning on adding the vegetables or fruits in the kebab mix, you should be creative in doing it. Adding color to your dish will make it look more tempting.

The meat that you will be using should at least be of the same size. This way, they will be evenly cooked. The ideal size in cutting would be 1 or two inches. When cooking, mist the skewered food with a little oil so that it would not stick.

You can opt for wooden skewers as they are cheaper than the metal ones. But you have to soak them in warm water for about thirty minutes to avoid burning the stick. This dish is simple and easy to prepare. You do not have to be too elaborate because it would be overdoing it. And this would result to losing the real taste of the dish.
