So, you have made the decision to follow a low carb and high protein diet. However, some of the obstacles that you have encountered is finding high protein snacks. Well, there are many delicious snacks however none beat eating the best beef jerky. Not only will you receive some of the protein needed you will be eating a delicious snack as well.

Nuts are perfect for snacks and just to sprinkle on a salad. However, you can overdo it with the nuts. So, it is important to use portion control and limit yourself to how many you can have a day. Just about every nut is alright to eat on the diet, however, there are some that are a bit higher in carbs than others.

The rest of your day should be quite limited when it comes to eating carbs. Between breakfast and lunch most people get a bit hungry and just want something to nibble on. You can then implement a jerky stick. Or, you could try some nuts with the beef stick.

Another great benefit of the snack is a good supply of iron and zinc. The minerals are good for your immune system and helps the flow of the red blood cells which fights to help wounds heal quickly. Always purchase jerky that has small amounts of fat in it. If you are watching your sodium intake look for the low-sodium versions of the meat, it does exist. If you are clever in the kitchen many people like to make their own jerky.

You have to invest in a couple of jars of peanut butter on the low carb diet. The peanut butter can be ate on celery, and other pieces of vegetables. The best thing about the spread is that it is high in protein. It is also important to remember that not all vegetables are low in carbs. There are some that you will need to stay away from on the diet. Corn is one of those high starchy foods you will need to stay away from. You also want to limit the intake on carrots. Carrots are actually pretty high especially for those who might be following strict intake numbers on the plan.

Most people will tell you that their carbohydrate foods are their comfort foods. Think about it when you were in college preparing for final exams, you probably reached for a bag of chips to help you get through the studying. Or, when broke up with that significant other, you might have indulged in a whole box of ice cream.

Not to mention when people are preparing their meals at home, there is the need to add rice or some type of pasta to make you feel full. Unfortunately, none of these foods will be allowed on the low carb plan. You will actually begin to notice that you will really have more energy eating this way that is once your body becomes used to eat. Many people know that foods high in carbs is bad for your metabolism and only slows you down.

Regardless, of how much weight you need to lose the low carbohydrate and high protein diet is a good one to follow. Most people see results pretty quickly while others have to do a bit more exercising and dieting to see results that they want to see with the plan.
