Christmas Tree Box Storage Tips

Christmas trees are everywhere during the holiday season and comes in different sizes and designs. Some may uses real trees but it is more common now to use artificial ones. They provide the ease of use and can be disassembled and stored to be used again next year if kept properly and can be a great way to save money.

Storing an artificial tree is not as easy as disassembling it and shoving it back inside the container. There are things that you must do to preserve its quality and beauty for the next time you will be displaying it. Here are some tips to help you in storing them properly for the whole year.

Make sure you fold your tree carefully and properly. Failing to do so and just bunching up the branches may harm the tree on the months that it will be stored. There are trees that are prelit and not properly folding them may damage them and cause a short circuit and it will not be able to light up next time.

These will also enable you to check if there are some small ornaments and decorations that were not removed the first time around. Store them carefully as well so that you will be able to use them again in the future. Wrap them with bubble wraps and store them in different containers or with one that has divisions to protect them from dust and weathering and from bumping and damaging each other while on storage.

Your tree needs to be wrapped as well. You could buy one or use a white cloth to tightly wrap around it. Hitting the box, fluctuating temperatures and moisture are some things that wrapping it will prevent from causing damage to it and keep it protected.

Place it inside the container carefully after. If the container is not large enough, do not press and force it down but instead consider buying a larger one to use as its storage. Also, make sure the container is durable enough so that it will not easily be affected by outside forces or impacts.

Carefully put the box and store it somewhere safe. Do not just put it anywhere in the garage or basement where it can easily fall or be knocked over. The ideal way of storing it is by putting it along a wall horizontally so that it will not be tipped over easily. Avoid areas where it will be subject to sunlight or moisture if possible.

Protect it also from possible animal intrusions like from birds and rodents which like to make their homes in artificial trees. If you have followed the tips stated above then you would be able to use your tree for a longer time and save expenses on Christmas decorations. These savings will be of great use in buying other things like food or gifts for your loved ones to celebrate the holiday season.
