As tomato sauce is one of the main ingredients of pizza, eating about a slice per week gives you a healthy dose of lycopene in a very happy way.

This component is also essential for optimum heart health. With adequate amounts of lycopene in your system, you can really say goodbye to the occurrence of heart issues. Eating pizza makes for a very delicious way to get lycopene.

Another ingredient that is used excessively in most pizza recipes is the oregano. It is an abundant source of carvacrol. This substance is known to be one of the few that has the power to counter norovirus, the most common virus to cause upset tummies.

The remaining components include mozzarella cheese, garlic, and olive oil. All of these three also have their own significant contributions in boosting your health. Mozzarella has large amounts of sodium, calcium and protein. Garlic has vitamin C, manganese, and selenium. Olive oil is best known for its high amounts of good cholesterol.
