How To Make Cinnamon Toothpicks The Easy Way

By Christa Jarvis

If you try to backtrack a little and recall some of your elementary years, you will most likely remember one time when you had a great time making flavored toothpicks. Some kids do it just for fun. Others do it for a school project or assignment.

The popularity of making it has spread not only throughout the continental U. S. Areas outside the country has known cinnamon toothpicks for quite a while now. The secret is not only because it is easy and can be a good past time for people of all ages. It has its hygienic benefits like providing you fresh breath which is favorable for many.

The first thing you have to do is to collect the things that you will need in performing the process. They are all basic. You can even find them at home. They are a set of toothpicks, a clean, empty vial, a plate, and a cinnamon oil.

Just be sure to have all of the materials ready before you proceed. The last thing you would want is to stand up from time to time to get what you need while in the middle of performing the process. Start by getting the cinnamon oil and placing two ounces of it on the empty jar. Get the toothpicks and place them in as well. After that, cover the jar tightly.

Once done, you can now sit back and relax while you leave it overnight. Do not get too excited and jump into trying it out after an hour of soaking. It will defeat the purpose of why you are even soaking the them.

The thing that we want to accomplish here is to have the full scent and cooling effect of the spice be present on the wooden materials. One to two hours of soaking will not do enough. Storing it overnight will ensure that every part of it is covered.

Now let us fast forward to the next day after. This time, you may already remove the contents from the vial. But first, get a plate. This is where you should lay them down for drying. Do not use a fan for drying them up. Neither should you go out and leave the set exposed to heat. Let it dry naturally. It may take some time, but that is an acceptable trade for a best result.

Once they are all dried, you may now go ahead and use them. Make sure to store the rest of them at a clean airtight vial in order to preserve the cinnamon scent. Also, do not throw away the cinnamon oil that you used on the process. It can be preserved and be used in making another set next time. Make sure to place it in the same airtight container and keep it in a cool, safe place away from the reach of children.

So you see, the process is simple. You do not even need to cook and fire up something just to make it. The best part is, you get to enjoy its cooling benefits. Do not miss the chance.
