Taking A Look At Seasonal Candy Treats

No matter what the holiday, families tend to gather together sharing good food and special sweets. Most folks would agree that their favorite part of the celebration are the seasonal candy treats. If you think about each holiday you will most likely assemble pictures in your mind of the candies that have become a symbol of the day.

For example, jelly beans, cream filled eggs, little brightly colored marshmallow chicks, or chocolate eggs bring to mind the Easter season. If you celebrate the holiday you have no doubt grown up enjoying these treats during the celebration. What makes these sugary delights even more pleasurable is that they are only around for a short time.

When the winter holidays are here folks can purchase as many different sweets as they wish. For example, your have your choice of peppermint bark, ribbon candies, brightly color wrapped chocolate bells, and peppermint candy canes. Many people select a variety of treats since they are only available during the season. You can even freeze them and eat them later since they will be off the shelves until the next year.

Valentines Day is well known for giving boxes of delicious chocolates to your loved one. If you think the marshmallow chicks have disappeared you will be pleased to see them back in the shape of a heart. You will even be able to buy that yummy chocolate shaped like small hearts and wrapped in pretty red foil paper.

For children and teens there are a number of Valentine sweets designed especially for them. For example, kids seem to love getting a box of colored heart shaped candies with messages stamped on each piece. Kids also love the little heart shaped containers with action or cartoon characters on them and contain several pieces of chocolate. Teenagers often buy the chocolate roses to give to their special person.

When Halloween comes around the store shelves are over flowing with the different varieties of sweets. You have the will be able to choose from several different hard and chocolate candies in a variety of sizes. Candy bars will be available in regular, jumbo, mini, and bite size. Folks are also able to buy bags of goodies in extra large and regular size. If you look close you will recognize that the popular flavors offered at other holidays have been transformed and are ghosts and goblins.

Who can resist that deliciously sweet corn shaped treat. This favorite treat is also available flavored with chocolate. In addition, the same recipe is used to make pumpkin shaped treats. Because of their color and shapes these sweets can represent not only Halloween, but Thanksgiving as well.

When the season is over the candies are taken off the shelves of the stores. Even though these sweets are only available once a year there are enough holidays over the months to keep you in candy delights. Additionally, when you pay attention you will notice that your favorite flavors are often reshaped to fit the particular holiday. So in reality you can enjoy your favorite treat year round.
