Special Father's Day Gift Baskets That Rock

By Giselle Taylor

I don't know about you but I have such a great dad I want to give him something from my heart this year-- like fun and thoughtful Father's Day gift baskets he will love. When else do I get the chance to show him how much I appreciate him being there for me all throughout my life anytime I needed him - or didn't need him or so I thought. He's a special man and more than worthy to be celebrated.

Personally, I find that gift giving offers one great advantage - it allows you to make the recipient try something he wouldn't necessarily like doing. If you prepare beautifully done and sweetly given healthy gift baskets, your dad will have no choice but to partake of it. It sounds a little scheming, but having a healthy dad is worth whatever it takes. You can give him some of those delicious fresh fruit baskets to take the place of the greasy bacon and fries he usually consumes.

If fresh fruit gift baskets really have no place in your dad's heart; you don't need to push it. It's his day so prepare something he would like and just make it as healthy as possible. Take a large wicker basket and fill it with yummy treats like whole wheat bread, imported sausages, some fruit, nuts and maybe a bottle of sparkling wine. Your gift is not just a lovely lunch but a very rare picnic date together. Spend an afternoon of fun and bonding; it's something he would appreciate more than anything.

What hobby does your dad take pleasure in the most? Work around this particular theme in your gift basket. Perhaps its golf. Trim a big basket with synthetic grass garlands and put in golf paraphernalia like pens, magazines, wall paper, etc. The more creative the better. If your budget will allow it, but an umbrella and have it printed out with his name and some silly message. When he uses it as he makes his rounds across the course, he will remember you.

Here's a well known secret that bears repeating - the cost of the gift really doesn't matter to most parents. That almost gives you a free pass on what to give our dads right? Nope - we still need to give our best, however form it takes on. If the best means DIY gift baskets for the time being then that's great - it spells love and sincere effort to him and that is what matters.

How about putting together an album of his favorite songs from all the bands and singers he loves? The same applies to his movie fetish if he has one. A DVD collection would make a great present for him. If all else fails, make him laugh with a bouquet of corndogs or a framed picture of your mom's face when he wore that loud golf shirt while walking beside her.

Today we give special attention to the hero that needs no special mention, at least for him -our dad. He always provided and cared for us beyond what was expected of him; it's your chance to show your appreciation with beautiful Father's Day gift baskets that express your love.
