Where Is The Best Pizza In Berkeley

By Sonya Riley

Everybody will always love a good slice of pizza. And if you are in Berkeley and near Cal University, you may want to look for the best pizza in Berkeley. This article recommends some popular places that people go to in the quest for the perfect slice of pie.

Cheeseboard is a pizzeria that has been quite popular for some time. The trademark of this place is its one flavor of pizza per day offering. This means that they only make one flavor everyday of a certain pizza. Thus you will never know exactly what you are in for when you come into the place the next day. They do offer their pies in non vegetarian and vegetarian flavors. Should you be in Cal University, it is only a fifteen minute leisurely walk.

Zachary's Chicago Pizza also offers pie offerings to the Berkeley community either in deep dish or thin crust styles. They also serve a variety of stuffed pizzas. Due to the popularity of the place, it can get quite crowded and you may have to wait a while for a seat. Most however will tell you the wait is well worth it.

Emilia's Pizzeria is a one man place that has been getting raves across the town. This is not a sit down place for you to eat, as most will have to order by phone or just go there and have a takeout by slice or by pie. They specialize in New York style deep dish and thin crust styles. One of the other things going for this place is that service is prompt and to the minute.

Gioia is one of those pizzerias that are recommended for vegans and veggie lovers. Many attest to the goodness and unique taste of their funghi flavor, most with ingredients using mushrooms of the wild and cultivated kind. Gioia is literally translated as joy, so perhaps you will get some joy by trying out their delicacies.

Silver is a jazz and pizzeria bar that rotates their menu once every two weeks. This ensures that you get varieties in your toppings and you will not get sick of the menu. The pie is really good and the place is getting popular for big groups and meetings, as the price is fairly reasonable for a whole pie.

Upscale Italian dining is also on offer from a place that has been open for almost half a century. Lo Cocos not only has its own mouth watering version of the pie but has many other salads and pastas on offer as well. Most do complain about the lack of space for parking so it is probably best to go there early or just to walk or take a cab. Do try their number 7, called the Sorrento.

With all these offerings, it is really not that difficult to find the best pizza in Berkeley. But of course it is advisable not to limit yourself to this list. Do be adventurous and try out other dives and restaurants to find that perfect taste for your palate. With the current offering of restaurants in the city, you will be most likely be spoilt for choice in your adventure.
