Before you start to look for bartending San Diego employment, keep in mind, the law requires all people who are serving liquor products to their customers to be of legal drinking age. If you are unclear regarding the rules surrounding the proper hiring age for establishments who serve liquor and would like some clarification, simply check with your government office to get all the necessary information.

Most places you apply to work will not require you to have a lot of experience before being hired. Often, you will be trained on the job. Despite often having the opportunity to learn on the job, whenever possible you should take the time to learn as much as you can about mixing drinks before you begin your new job.

If possible, it is a good idea to get a formal education in the field before applying for jobs. It is very important that you are aware of and willing to follow the dress code as set out by the establishments management. While some companies are very casual others require a more strict dress attire. Always be ready to dress accordingly and remember, to dress properly for the interview.

Along with being mindful of dress code for an interview, be sure you have prepared for the interview itself as much as possible. Keep in mind, the more prepared you are the more impressed you will make the interviewer.

As a skilled professional you can work in many environments like a hotel, resort or club so, you should think about the kind of work place that you believe will interest you the most when applying. Also remember not to get frustrated as you are beginning your career, as it takes time to master the skills of a good drink mixer.
