The Top Lures For Florida Bass Fishing

By Marla Mills

Fishing is a popular activity in almost all human societies that live close to a water body. It has been part of human activities for the past thousand years. Some individuals fish for food, others for entertainment, as a sport or even for meditation. The success of an angler is determined by a lot of factors. However, the type of lure is of paramount importance on a Florida bass fishing trip.

Plastic worms are undoubtedly the most popular form of bait used by fishermen. This is proven by the extravagant amount of space devoted to worm baits in many angling stores. Their popularity stems from their ability to attract sea animals from as far as twenty five feet below the surface of water. Worms are natural food for many types of fish. This heightens the chances of making a catch during your expedition.

Stick baits are a popular form of lures that are used to catch creatures that swim close to the surface. They are made of floating material and are shaped as sticks. The trick is to deceive fish to come close to the floating piece of stick. Experienced anglers learn how to mimic fish movements with the object, thus improving their chances of reeling in a sea creature.

In order to catch deep swimming fish, one has to use a sinking lure. The oblong shaped spoon is a fine sinker that attracts the creatures at the bottom of lakes. The shape of the spoon makes it ideal for sifting through weeds and underwater grasses. To use this lure one must however own a medium to heavy line that can be yanked from the bottom quickly.

The buzzbait is a distinctly weird object in the eyes of many anglers. It has a hollow midsection and a small plastic propeller in the back. The buzz bait makes a buzzing noise when drawn through water. It is this noise that attracts fish and other sea creatures. The best thing is that this lure can be used in deeply vegetated areas without the risk of snagging.

Many professional anglers profess their love for spinner bait as their lure of choice on many expeditions. The lure is composed of a crooked piece of wire, a jig head and spinning blades. Despite looking a little weird for angling, the spinner bait is a wonderful contraption. When pulled through water the blades spin, making splashing sounds. The colors of the blades are important in attracting sea creatures to the hook.

The rat trap lure is famed as a magnet for aquatic animals. The object is shaped like a small fish with hollow insides. Beads are placed in the hollow section and hooks are attached to the side. When the lure moves in water, the trap mimics fish movements and makes gurgling sounds. Vast numbers of creatures are drawn to this mysterious object.

Catching a big fish is the epitome of an angling trip. Fishermen spend hours seated in boats trying their luck at catching these evasive animals. The secret to achieving success in Florida bass fishing is having the right equipment.
